About

“Those most stigmatized by society are in fact the most energetic forces of Radical love and acceptance that will lead marginalized peoples to the future and beyond. My name is Hablo Rodriguez Diaz. My people are of the Raramuri of what is now Northern Mexico and the Mhuysqa of Coastal Colombia. I’m just your local hood homie that wants to heal.” —Hablo, Curanderx

Our Solve

Hablo was very direct in challenging us to think beyond the typical aesthetics of Western (read: white) wellness brands, and instead shared references from their own ancestors and contemporaries, including everything from Mayan temple stone carvings to photos of Mykki Blanco. Because of the personal nature of healing work, it makes sense that the brand identity is a reflection of Hablo’s own— brown, radically soft, and queer af.

Why the Santisima? Also known as the Santa Muerte, she is Hablo’s chosen saint for her protection over queer folks and others who have traditionally been shunned by the Catholic church. Her veil and scythe represent protection and abundance (rather than destruction) in this context. We intentionally chose to center our non-Western lens when choosing this figure as a representative for Curanderx Connections’ work.

Website & Collateral

“Schessa is an amazing professional and creative. A true vessel of patient wisdom and execution of chaotic artistic ideas that I had; flawlessly manifesting my visions into a reality. Working with them has been a true pleasure.”

— Hablo Rodriguez Diaz, Founder at CuranderX Connections
