Octavia Saint Laurent Risograph Poster

This piece honors the legacy of trans ancestor Octavia, a pioneer in the Harlem ball scene and an OG mother of the house of Saint Laurent. Featured in the 1990 documentary Paris is Burning, Octavia was an American model and AIDS educator who was active in New York City's Black and Latino ballroom community and Harlem's luxurious balls.

They had ambitions of becoming a household name, and this work is part of fulfilling the wishes of an incredibly brave and brilliant woman. We honor them.
