About
As part of LARB’s mission to increase access to the world of literary and cultural production, LITLIT aims to strengthen public and institutional support for independent presses. Presented by the Los Angeles Review of Books in partnership with Hauser & Wirth Publishers, LITLIT offers local presses and literary arts organizations a unique, two-day opportunity to share their perspectives, books, and goods with Angelenos at Hauser & Wirth’s beautiful open-air courtyard space in Downtown L.A.’s Arts District.
Our Solve
LITLIT is a literary love letter to Los Angeles’ diverse and vibrant indie press community. Our team referenced L.A.’s iconic sky palettes and cloud scapes by using cyan, magenta, and yellow gradients to create dreamy backdrops for the fair’s identity, signage, advertisements, and social media campaign. As a result, over 5,300 people attended the fair this year, above and beyond LARB’s expectations!

Panel: For the Love of Print
Editors of The LARB Quarterly, Chloe Watlington and Michelle Chihara, join Jeff Weiss of theLAnd and creative director & near-futurist writer, Schessa Garbutt, to discuss the love and labor of print magazines, designing for print, and ongoing debates around the relevance of literary criticism and production today.
“Thank you both so much for making LITLIT the visual marvel that it is this year—and for your patience, sense of humor, and support! Firebrand is top notch.”
— Kelly Peyton, Programs Manager at Los Angeles Review of Books
